The EPA’s Herbicide Strategy is touted to be the most impactful regulatory change for farmers in generations. After settling an exhaustive batch of lawsuits, the Herbicide Strategy is one of several forthcoming EPA proposals to help the Agency come into long-awaited Endangered Species Act compliance. But has the EPA gone too far? In this breakout session, the foundation and impacts of the Herbicide Strategy will be front and center. In particular, farmer perspectives on the impacts to whole-farm weed management and climate-smart farming will be discussed. Many questions remain as this and other Strategies are rolled out at breakneck speed. Arguably the most important of which is whether these proposals can become workable for American farmers.
