Nate Nies is a grain merchandiser for Zeeland Farm Services with more than a dozen years of Merchandising experience. Nate graduated from Purdue University in 2012 with a degree in Agricultural Economics and immediately went to work as a Merchandiser for Consolidated Grain and Barge in Cahokia, IL trading Corn, Soybeans, Wheat, and Barge Freight. He then moved on to similar roles at multiple different locations within CGB across the Mississippi and Ohio rivers. He moved on to Manage a group of elevators for Tate and Lyle Grain, before joining the grain merchandising team at Zeeland Farm Services in 2015. At ZFS, Nate leverages his extensive experience and network of contacts to procure soybeans for Michigan’s only large-scale commercial soy processing facilities – Zeeland Farm Services and ZFS Ithaca. He also handles the sale of soybean meal, and trades ZFS’s FOB corn and wheat positions. Nate currently lives in Byron Center, MI with his wife and two children.
