Juan Cantu, Director of R&D, Rantizo

Juan Cantu serves as the Director of R&D at Rantizo, boasting over 15 years expertise in the sUAS and remote sensing sectors, spanning from agriculture to public safety. In his role at Rantizo, he assesses and tests emerging technologies and innovations with the potential to enhance spray drone capabilities, encompassing diverse facets like imagery, equipment, and software. Juan’s roots trace back to a farming and ranching community situated outside Lubbock, Texas, where he gained firsthand insights into the challenges faced by those dedicated to food and fiber production. His academic journey commenced at West Texas A&M University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in AgEd. Subsequently, he pursues higher education, achieve both a master’s and PH.D. from Texas Tech University, specializing in Plant and Soil Science, with keen focus on sUAS Remote Sensing. Juan has dedicated himself to introducing technological advancements into the realm of agriculture. He plays a pivotal role in advancing the innovative field of drone spraying, with Rantizo at the forefront of these groundbreaking developments.
