Dr. Emily (Merewitz) Holm is an Associate Professor at Michigan State University in the Department of Plant, Soil, and Microbial Sciences and has served at MSU since 2012. She earned a Ph.D. at Rutgers University in the Plant Biology program. At MSU, Emily has a 60% research and 40% teaching appointment and specializes in Plant Physiology. Her research uses basic and applied methods to understand plant responses to environmental stress. This research has resulted in over 50 publications on abiotic and biotic stresses of grass species such as turfgrasses and cereal crops. With expertise in plant hormones, drought, heat, salt, and winter stresses, Emily has a broad range of knowledge to assist multiple commodities with improving yield and environmental sustainability. Emily enjoys sharing the knowledge obtained from her research to growers and serving as an Associate Editor for multiple journals including the Journal of Agronomy and Crop Science and Agronomy Journal.
